1st Day of Work

Work was good, it was pretty laid back. I worked at "Crane City" in the morning, cleaning/feeding the birds. After lunch I did some reading on cranes and helped with various tasks, and ended the day by going to "the pod." This is where the public can visit to view the birds. Today was a check day, not a service day for the pod, so we just made sure their water and food was okay and checked the birds, instead of doing an all out cleaning. Everyone seems really nice. It was weird having down time in the middle of the work day, but it was nice not having to rush around to get things done all day. The only real bad part is the weather. It was really cold and gross out today - lots of fog and the ground is all snowy and muddy. It looks like tomorrow is going to be even worse - its supposed to get really cold and possible high winds.
